What Defines Us: Centurion Auto Drivers

Unlike other car rental companies found here in Myanmar, Centurion Auto strives to give our clients a car rental experience unlike any other. What truly makes us stand out are our drivers. They are dedicated, loyal and work hard at what they do best. For the past 6 months, the Centurion management has been exposing them to defensive driving training. Myanmar is a country rich in agriculture, minerals and oils thus the drivers are trained to drive in rocky and unstable conditions. Defensive driving also includes the safety of their clients, which is their number 1 priority. We have instilled in them defensive tactics, high alertness and better communication.

Not all of our drivers came with hospitality backgrounds and to see how far they’ve come today is a very rewarding experience for us. Their past driving experiences include bus, truck and taxi driving, all of which can get a little out of hand in this bustling city. One of our largest hurdles was the simplicity of signalling. In their past jobs, their form of signalling to the left or right was by sticking their arm out and waving it up and down. Or having their pal beside them stick out their “one time” index finger to inform other commuters. Our drivers are not perfect, and at times are still used to old habits but we are proud of them nonetheless. One of our biggest achievements is the emphasis of speaking English. We hold daily English classes in both speaking and writing encouraging them to learn as well as to teach their loved ones back home.

Through all of our hard work we have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from clients about our drivers and service which pushed us to work on a driver training consultation program. This program is suitable for corporations, hotels, and personal use. More about the program, it’s benefits, and prices will be elaborated in our post next week!
